The skull debacle

After a yummy Swedish breakfast with a friend I got down to trying to clean a pig skull for an art project. I had been told to boil, then scrub the skull, and it sounded easy enough. So I fired up the stove and got down to watching some Wire. A few hours later I removed the skull and realized how over-my-head I was. I had boiled it too long, and it was bendy and starting to fall apart. It brought home the organic-ness of the skull, and I was struck by how incredible it is that two cells get together, form this skull and a thinking brain, and then it dies and it was amazing.

The nasal and brain cavities were filled with really gross
